Datapod inks 5 year supply deal with global resources giant

Datapod have been awarded the supply contract for modular data centers by a major resources company with operations throughout Australia as well as Latin America and North America.  With considerable experience in the resources sector Datapod’s proven approach to delivering world-class modular ICT facilities was a key factor in succesfully concluding the deal.  With safety a key factor in the resource sector it was also important to be able to demonstrate a top-down commitment to a safe working environment.  Scott Carr, Managing Director of Datapod points to the 1500-days without LTI in both our factory and offsite deployment projects as a proof-point.  “You can’t operate for nearly 5 years without incident unless safety is embedded in the culture of the company”, says Scott, adding that resource-sector clients wanted to know that their suppliers understood their needs and took safety as seriously as they do.

Design maturity was also a key selling point for the customer.  Having been proven across numerous resource-sector deployments, including both large high-density systems and small edge systems, Datapod were able to prove that the modular architecture was sufficiently flexible that it could be used globally, in all climatic conditions, in a wide range of sizes and densities.  “Datapod were able to satisfy the customers needs through a single system of standardised modules, giving the customer the ultimate flexibility”, says Adam Smith, Account Director.

Deployments for this customer will begin across Australia in July 2018, with North American deployments the following year.
