Datapod unlock digital oil and gas field with modular data center

Datapod is set to unlock the ‘digital oil and gas field’ with the release of their new capability statement for the oil and gas industry sector.

The Datapod capability statement outlines the challenges facing the oil and gas industry and how the modular data center approach can be deployed to enhance upstream activities, such as exploration and production activities like, 2D, 3D and 4D seismic and drilling data processing, refining, supervisory control and video surveillance and downstream activities, such as supply chain processing, data storage and management solutions.

The rugged all terrain design of the Datapod System is suited to extreme environments and provides an enterprise grade data center that meets global quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety management ISO standards. The Datapod System can also be deployed to remote locations, greenfield sites, or existing inner city locations with satellite or cable connectivity for global networking.

Datapod Director Adam Smith said, “The oil and gas capability statement is designed to show IT professionals in the oil and gas industry that there is a reliable solution to driving technological change within their organisation. Just because a site is in an extreme, hazardous, or remote location it doesn’t mean it should be difficult for these organisations to procure an enterprise grade data center.”

Like other industries company executives in the oil and gas sector are looking to their data center infrastructure to drive innovation, productivity and profitability.

“In an industry where the price of a commodity can vary dramatically within a relatively short period of time, a modular data center solution lays the foundation from which oil and gas companies can drive productivity and implement new technologies which in turn can mean the difference between profitability or financial losses,” said Mr Smith.
